Tina Fucile, Austin Title
Elizabeth Eagan reached out to me regarding two students she works with who are visually impaired. Gwendolyn Watkins, Keller Williams Totally Hooked Team, and I visited Emile Elementary school on Monday. The students, Gabriel and Minnie, sent questions in advance and we discussed what a REALTOR does, what a community is, and a bit of history about Bastrop. Ms. Eagan encouraged the students to share their skills with us also. Gabriel read a few pages from a book in braille; Minnie shared a book that she wrote with us and showed us how to use the brailler or braille embosser (I am not sure of the appropriate title.)
This is a classic example of the We Believe in BISD program working! We have encouraged the teachers to reach out to us when they need assistance and I personally can’t think of a better way to spend part of an afternoon. I am sure that Gwendolyn would agree with me.
Molly McClure, BISD School Board
Dear Tina and Gwendolyn,
You have said it so well. This is a classic example of We Believe in BISD program working! I am sure that the children and Ms. Eagan will keep this memory as a treasure for a long time. I’m sure that you could see the strong bond between our children’s education and our business community. It makes so much sense for that bond to be strong! Monday was a fine example of that! Thank you both for taking your time to make such a difference in the lives of these children by expanding their knowledge and understanding!
